Pumpkin Face Mask
Get those cute fall boots out and jump into your cozy oversized sweater. It’s time to cure your summer blues and embrace autumn with with a face full of pumpkin pie. Literally. We are putting food on our face… and not because we are slobs.
Ingredients
Pumpkin contains enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids, which help to renew the skin by getting rid of dead skin cells and revealing fresh skin cells underneath. It also has vitamins A and C to even out skin tone, stimulate collagen production, and protect from free radicals. Pumpkin also contains many minerals needed for healthy skin such as copper (for collagen and pigmentation) and zinc (for oily skin and acne).
Cinnamon is antibacterial and anti-fungal, which help to heal acne and prevent new breakouts. It brings blood and oxygen closer to the outer layer of the skin, which helps to “plump” the skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
Raw honey is wonderful for moisturizing and cleansing. It contains antioxidants [important for mature and ageing skin] and has antibacterial and healing properties [important for facial or body acne, eczema, psoriasis]. Raw honey makes skin feel very soft and smooth.
How to Make a Pumpkin Face Mask
Choose a small glass bowl to use.
Start by adding 3 teaspoons of pumpkin puree to a small bowl.
Next add 1 teaspoon of raw honey (if your raw honey is crystallized, just warm it up to liquify and then add it). I purchase my raw honey from Ohana Honey Farm – which is local and amazing.
Add 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon. If you have sensitive skin, leave out the cinnamon.
Mix together and apply to face.
Indulge in the sweet smell of pumpkin pie while pretending you are not going to have a lick for about 10 mins and rinse off.
Enjoy your fall glow!
Try one of my other masks: Bentonite Clay Mask or Activated Charcoal Mask
Happy Pumpkin Masking 🙂
